Moving to a modular endplate to standardize on a single AAIO plug in enclosure. The next batch of AAIO will not ask you if your radio uses a rail or not, instead it will come with one standard AAIO enclosure and an end plate kit consisting of 3 parts. These parts allow you to snap together an end plate with or without the QRP labs supplied aluminum rail.
In addition to the increased modularity this design interfaces directly with AAIO enclosure. This makes alignment during assembly easier and provides a significant improvement in lock up once the module is plugged in. No longer are exterior forces put on the plugs but instead they are transferred to the end plate.
If you bought a first batch AAIO and want an end plate kit please email me with your order number and I can get you taken care of. If you purchased a kit for a QMX “with rails” I will provide you with a new enclosure as well. If you own a 3D printer and would like to print your own, the enclosure is on Printables and the end plate design will be there once finalized!
Side note: Parts have been ordered to restock AAIO kits, ETA 1-2 weeks.
